Ernst Leitz GmbH Wetzlar Hektor 250mm f/2.8 projection objective, tested and working.
Description from the seller
Very large and lightweight Ernst Leitz GmbH Wetzlar Hektor projection objective, made in Germany.
This professional lens is marked “Hektor f=25cm 1:2.8”: a focal length of 250 mm with the very bright maximum aperture of f/2.8. Originally designed for professional projection applications, but today highly popular with photographers working with large format, wet plate collodion, camera obscura, and experimental portrait photography.
The enormous glass elements and the exceptionally bright construction give a particularly characterful image rendering. The lens has no standard camera mount, built-in diaphragm, or focusing mechanism. For use on a camera, mounting on a lens board, balg camera, or an own adapter construction is required.
The optics are clear and the lens is in fine used condition. The solid aluminium housing shows light, normal signs of wear. The original metal construction with white carrying/attachment lever is present. Please examine the photos carefully; they form part of the description.
