Description from the seller

Beautiful mid-century Chinese Peking wool area rug crafted in a classic European Aubusson floral design. This piece features a rich, deep royal blue ground adorned with hand-carved, raised structural elements depicting floral bouquets and trailing vine borders, giving the pile a distinctive 3D texture. With a weight of 25 kg for its size, this rug offers a dense, high-quality thick wool pile that feels exceptionally substantial underfoot. An excellent accent piece for Art Deco, mid-century modern, or maximalist interior styles.
Origin: China (Peking style)
Approximate Era: Mid-20th Century
Material: 100% Wool pile on a sturdy cotton foundation
Dimensions: 310 cm x 217 cm (excluding fringe)Weight: Approx. 25 kg
Condition Report:
Overall: Good structural condition with a robust, thick pile and no bald patches or dry rot.
Cleaning: The rug is uncleaned / in original vintage condition. It shows light ground-in dust and minor surface soiling from normal use over time. A professional wash is recommended to fully restore the vibrancy of the colors and brighten the ivory elements.
Fringe / Edges: Salvages are intact; the white cotton fringe shows light wear and age-related discoloration but remains structurally stable.
