Decorative ornament - France - Hugo van der Goes after Rogier van der Weyden

Refined and important 19th-century antique lithograph executed by the celebrated German lithographer Johann Nepomuk Strixner (1782–1855), one of the great pioneers of art lithography in Europe.

The work faithfully reproduces a masterpiece by the Flemish master Rogier van der Weyden, depicting the Madonna and Child and an Angel within a scenographic Gothic architectural structure with a view of the city.

At the bottom the period signatures and the French title are clearly visible:

* In the center: La Vierge, l'Enfant Jésus et un Ange lui offrant une fleur

The work is mounted on an elegant passe-partout decorated with gold/green stripes in French gallery style, ready to be framed.
