Description from the seller
Le Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2009 du Vieux Télégraphe is a rich and deep cuvée, produced from a blend of 65% Grenache noir, 15% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah, 5% Cinsault, Clairette and various other cépages.
Terroirs: Pebble-strewn Crau plateau: a clay layer rich in pebbles.
Vine age: 60 years on average.
Manual harvest with double sorting in the vineyard and in the cellar.
Vinification: Traditional fermentation of 25 to 35 days in stainless steel and wooden tanks under controlled temperatures
Élevage: 10 first months in tanks then 12 months in foudres.
Alcohol: 14.5%.
Tasting: Deep, saturated color. Nose with notes of orange peel and stone fruits, exotic spices, very persistent. On the palate, the wine stands out for an ample and velvety texture, at once rich, round and perfectly balanced. Notes of aromatic herbs, licorice, bay leaf and spices add complexity and freshness, while the finish stretches into fine flavors of red and black cherry. A Châteauneuf-du-Pape of great depth, endowed with remarkable aging potential.
Very beautiful, classic and elegant Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Serve in a carafe at 17°C, open more than an hour before.
To drink and to keep for another 10 years.
Production: 200,000 bottles
