Description from the seller
Pepper shaker in the shape of a Viking horn, 800 silver, Norwegian Dragestil style.
What you see is described in auction catalogs exactly as 'Shaker is in the shape of a tusk or horn with ornate scroll Celtic designs' and as 'Horn Shaped Pepper Shaker' in the style of the Norwegian Dragestil movement of the early Twentieth Century.
• Period: 1920-1960, produced in Bergen (Magnus Aase and Theodor Olsens Eftf workshops)
• Decoration: dragon entwined with a ribbon and scrollwork, nielloed dark background - typical Dragestil
• Function: pepper shaker / powdered sugar shaker, screw cap with 12-14 holes
• Side foot: that little tab is the original support to keep it standing, not a break. In yours it’s just a bit open.
