Artist and designer Æ (Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Design and Multimedia Technologies, Barcelona, 2004 + Bachelor’s Degree in East Asian Studies) has developed a distinctive visual language inspired by minimalism, conceptual art, Japanese printmaking and iconic popular culture. Working exclusively with hand-finished mixed media, Æ transforms legendary cultural figures into timeless monochrome compositions where texture, contrast and negative space become as expressive as the subjects themselves.

This triptych pays tribute to Michael Jackson, one of the most influential performers in the history of popular music. Through three expressive portraits, the composition captures different facets of his artistic persona, balancing vulnerability, charisma and commanding stage presence. Rendered in striking black and white with bold ink textures, the work evokes the visual language of classic photography while offering a contemporary reinterpretation of an enduring cultural icon whose influence continues to inspire generations of musicians, dancers and artists around the world.
