AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Ancient Greek Socketed Arrowheads.
Ca. 7th-3rd century BC.
Bronze 36-41 mm, 9.52 g (together).
Lot of 2.

Socketed bronze arrowheads of trilobate (three-bladed) and bilobate (two-bladed with raised midrib) form.

Socketed bronze arrowheads were standard projectiles across the Greek and Near Eastern world. The three-bladed form, known as the Scythian type, is linked to the steppe archers whose campaigns reached the Near East in the 7th century BC, and was used by Greeks and Achaemenid Persians alike. The two-bladed form with raised midrib came into use in mainland Greece in the later 6th century BC and remained common until around 250 BC, carried as far as Egypt by Greek mercenaries.

Provenance: Bought in 2026 at a Polish auction house; previously in a private collection (further details not documented in our records). Purchase invoice on file.
