Description from the seller
SIS 831 Vintage Desk Lamp – Bauhaus / Industrial – 60s/70s
Original SIS 831 desk- or task lamp from SIS (Sirius Leuchten / SIS-Leuchten), designed by Karl Lang, in the classic Bauhaus/Industrial style, presumably from the 1960s/70s.
Particularly beautiful is the elegant yet very modern café-au-lait color scheme in a medium cream tone. The shade and base meet the black swan neck, the black wiring and the black tipping switch on the base. This contrast comes across as very high quality and surprisingly contemporary – although the lamp is already several decades old.
The large, wide-exposed metal shade can be individually aligned via the long flexible swan neck. Under the black ribbed cover there is additionally a sturdy metal swan neck that provides stability and form integrity to the construction. For the photos, this inner metal neck was intentionally exposed at one point to make the construction visible.
The clear, functional form language fits perfectly with Bauhaus, Mid-Century, Retro and Industrial interiors, while also looking very elegant in a modern setting.
Dimensions:
• maximum overall height when fully upright: approx. 64 cm
• Shade diameter: approx. 22.5 cm

• Height of the connection element / swan neck between base and shade: approx. 46 cm

The lamp is in very good condition, unrestored and complete in its original state. For its age, it is very well preserved. Nothing has been reworked, repainted, or restored intentionally, so the authentic character of the piece has been fully preserved.
The lamp comes from our family collection and is offered as part of a household liquidation. Due to unforeseen family circumstances, we are currently dissolving two households within our family.
A very similar lamp from the same manufacturer can also be found in one of my other listings.
An exceptionally beautiful and equally functional vintage lamp with a warm Café au Lait color and a striking black contrast, which today appears at least as modern as when it was first created.
Ideal as a desk lamp, reading lamp, studio lamp, or decorative design object.
