Description from the seller
Peill & Putzler – Set of 2 solid block vases – 24% lead crystal – Germany, approx. 1970s
Description
For sale is an attractive lot of two solid block vases from Peill & Putzler, Germany, made of clear 24%-lead crystal.
Both vases carry the original gold label “Peill Germany 24% Lead Crystal” and display the geometric, tactile design language characteristic of modern German glass design of the period.
The first vase has a rectangular block form with a striking relief of 16 circular, raised elements arranged in a regular 4 × 4 grid. The individual “bubbles” create an interesting play of light and reflections and give the solid glass object a distinctly decorative effect.
The second vase is also designed as a solid glass block and shows on the front a large concentric circle- or spiral-structure. The flat faces are matte. Through the strong sculptural detailing, a striking optical effect arises that varies with the angle of light.
Both objects are typical of the modernist glass design of the 1960s/1970s and are suitable as decorative standalone pieces as well as as a pair for a collector.

Bubble/Relief vase:
- Height: approx. 17.3 cm
