Pair of bronze candelabra in the Louis XV Rococo style, dating to the first half of the 20th century.
Description from the seller
Pair of 3-branch Candelabra in Louis XV Style – Bronze – First Half of the 20th Century
Splendid and imposing pair of three-flame candelabra (three lights) in perfect Louis XV (Rococo) style, crafted in a rich bronze alloy finely chased and gilded on the surface.
The structure stands out for its extraordinary stage presence and extremely high quality of craftsmanship: the central shaft develops with sinuous and asymmetric lines typical of the period, enriched with elegant decorations in foliate motifs and acanthus scrolls. The curved arms resemble natural plant tendrils that open to support bobèches and candle cups richly ornamented and shaped to a corolla.
• Base diameter: 14 cm
• Weight of Candelabrum 1: 2,908 grams
• Weight of Candelabrum 2: 2,879 grams
• Total weight of the pair: Almost 6 kg (5,787 g total), testimony to a substantial and extremely solid artisanal casting.
Condition:
The item is presented in excellent and perfect condition, structurally intact and free from any subsequent restoration or welding. It preserves a magnificent luster and depth, enhanced by a light and fascinating patina of time distributed in the recesses of the chasing, authenticating its era.
