Pair of Napoleonic III style table lamps in blue cerulean opaline glass with bronze/brass mounts, dating to 1850–1900, each about 77 cm high with a 16–17 cm base, originally petroleum and later electrified, in good used condition.
Description from the seller
Splendid and elegant pair of Napoleon III style table lamps, dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century, originally born as oil lamps and later skillfully converted for electric use.
The central body is made of fine opaline glass in a blue cerulean/intense blue shade, adorned with delicate hand-painted floral decorations in gold. The lion-foot base and decorative collars are in bronze or cast brass, richly chased with ornamental motifs typical of the era.
Each lamp is topped with its original spherical globe of satin- or ground-glass, completed by the classic cylindrical glass chimney in transparent glass that lends lift and authenticity to the silhouette.
