One 225 g specimen of crude native sulfur with an aragonite-bearing sedimentary matrix from the Cozzodisi mine in Casteltermini, Agrigento, Sicily, Italy, measuring 8 × 5 × 7 cm.
Description from the seller
• Sample description: An extraordinary collectible specimen that showcases a combination of aesthetic native sulfur crystals, characterized by an extremely vivid canary yellow color and a pronounced vitreous luster. The sulfur crystals, well-formed and geometrically defined, develop within the cavities and on the surface of a characteristic sedimentary matrix covered by white and grayish globular aragonite microcrystals, creating an exceptional and classic color contrast.
• Locality from which they come: Cozzodisi Mine, Casteltermini, Libero Consorzio Comunale di Agrigento, Sicily, Italy. Cozzodisi has been one of the most important and historic mines of the Sicilian sulfur district, active for centuries and definitively closed around the end of the twentieth century. The samples mined from this locality are world-famous and highly sought after by collectors for the extraordinary purity and aesthetics of the sulfur crystallizations associated with gang minerals such as aragonite and calcite, a unique testament to the island’s mining epic.
• Crystal therapy note: In crystal therapy, sulfur is considered a powerful mineral for purification and energetic detoxification, ideal for absorbing and eliminating negative energies, emotional blocks, and old mental patterns. The associated aragonite promotes grounding, patience, and stability in moments of stress, working in synergy with sulfur to impart vitality, centering, and a deep drive toward personal renewal.
