Description from the seller
Period chest of drawers with an iconic curved, shaped profile (known as “balestra”), crafted with a beautiful walnut burl veneer featuring naturally striking grain and figuring of great aesthetic value.
The piece stands out for the refined color contrast between the golden burl and the shaped edges of the top and lower base, finished with elegant dark lacquered profiles. Designed with three spacious front drawers, it is enhanced by elegant handles and keyhole escutcheons in bronze/gilt brass, and rests on imposing, classically styled, dramatic carved scroll-shaped feet.
A one-of-a-kind piece with a striking presence and old-world charm, perfect for prestigious traditional interiors or as an eclectic accent in modern or contemporary settings.
Key Features:
Type: Shaped chest of drawers / dresser with 3 drawers
Materials: Wood with walnut burl veneer, lacquered details, gilt metal/bronze handles
Style: Barocchetto / Rococo / Vintage
Condition: In good condition for its age. It retains its original patina, with minor, natural signs of wear to the lacquer and wood that confirm its authenticity and vintage character. Solid, sturdy construction.
Notes for Buyers:
