Description from the seller
Set of 6 wine glasses with height 16.2 cm and diameter 9.3 cm. The manufacturer is a well-known Swedish brand specializing in tableware, glassware and interior design, crystalware: Duka, in the Sergel series (inspired/designed with references to the Swedish artist and sculptor Johan Tobias Sergel). Year of foundation: 1962. History: It originated from the union of 16 independent Swedish shops specializing in porcelain, glassware and home items (the oldest of which had opened in 1920 in Linköping by Hjalmar Blomkvist). Description: The clear, brilliant mouth-blown glass is an elegant conical wine glass. The bowl has a conical, elongated stem supported by a central knotted knop (stalk with a knop) and a flat circular base. The distinctive feature is the band incised and adorned in gold/bronze along the upper rim of the bowl, depicting festoons, stylized drapery, ribbons and laurel garlands in a strictly neoclassical taste. Origin of the ornament: The design draws inspiration from neoclassical friezes and motifs created by the Swedish sculptor and court artist Johan Tobias Sergel (1740–1814), from whom the series takes its name.
