We are offering at auction a unique piece of photography history: a classic Kodak 35 Rangefinder reworked through a refined conceptual and aesthetic reinterpretation project.
Instead of the classic black vulcanite covering of the era, this camera has been enriched with a historical graphic printed on innovative technical material. The motif depicts an vintage view of the city of Rochester (New York), famous historical headquarters and "home base" of the Eastman Kodak Company. The urban scene perfectly captures the spirit, architecture and everyday life of the 1930s and 1940s (with vintage trams, historic signs like McCurdy's, Rochester Times-Union and period cars), creating a deep connection between the camera and its homeland.
New coating features:
Innovative technical material: offers superior resistance to wear, contact with oils/greases.
Grip and tactile pleasure: provides a firm grip and a comfortable tactile user experience.
Durability: Designed to maintain the print's sharpness and mechanical properties over time.
Condition and operability:
The camera has not been tested but preserves all its iconic operational simplicity. The focusing mechanism via the distinctive front toothed wheel, the integrated rangefinder and the Kodak Anastigmat Special f/3.5 lens give this exemplar timeless charm, combining collectible value.
An excellent opportunity for vintage camera collectors, enthusiasts of custom design and admirers of the Kodak brand.
