Description from the seller

Antique doll with biscuit head, marked DEP 9 – Height 54 cm – Late 19th / early 20th century
Elegant antique doll, dating presumably to the period 1890-1910, with biscuit porcelain head, fixed glass eyes, open mouth with four teeth, pierced ears and blonde wig.
The nape bears the DEP mark and the number 9.
Fully articulated body, in wood and/or composition, with varnished finish.
The doll wears a refined pastel blue dress with ivory lace floral appliqués, decorative ribbons and a coordinated cap. The ensemble includes lace-finished underwear, light blue ribbons and black shoes.
Conditions: head intact, without cracks or breaks. Body showing wear and loss of varnish, particularly evident on the hands and at the joints. Fingers complete. Clothing preserved as shown in photographs.
The DEP marking is documented in the production of dolls intended for the French market between the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, also in pieces attributable to the Jumeau and Simon & Halbig manufactories. The attribution of this doll to a specific producer remains to be ascertained
