Description from the seller
This impressive specimen of sphalerite fascinates with its exceptional transparency and the intense color effect, which is particularly spectacular under lighting. In ordinary light the piece already shows warm honey, amber, and deep orange-brown tones with highly polished crystal faces and a glassy sheen. The natural structure consists of numerous angular crystal fragments, reflections, and fine internal layers, giving the piece enormous optical depth.
Under transmitted light the mineral transforms into a nearly glowing play of color with intense red, orange, and golden fire. The translucent areas appear almost like molten lava or liquid amber, creating an unusually lively radiance. The many natural cleavage planes create countless light reflections and prismatic effects, causing the piece to appear constantly different depending on the viewing angle.
Sphalerite is one of the most fascinating collector minerals and is known for its high luster and strong refractive properties. Highly transparent pieces with such intense luminosity and an aesthetic structure are especially sought after and have a very striking presence in any mineral collection or display case.
Traditionally, sphalerite is believed to possess activating and strengthening energy. It symbolically represents vitality, focus, and inner strength and is often associated with motivation, creativity, and energetic balance.
