AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful and elegant antique ménagère (herb set) of Continental European manufacture, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century (historicism / Art Nouveau period).
The set consists of a richly decorated, solid silver holder with a central handle and three accompanying glass flasks/jars with silver mounts. The silverwork features very refined, detailed hand-hammered relief work (repoussé) with lush floral motifs and flower patterns.
The set comprises:
• 1x Central mustard pot: Equipped with a hinged silver lid topped with an ornate flower knop and a notch for a mustard spoon, does not seal completely.
• 1x Pepper shaker: Glass flask with a finely perforated silver shaker lid.
• 1x Salt pot / Flask: Glass flask with a characteristic pointed silver cap.
• 1x Silver holder: Mounted on an openworked and richly worked foot with a sturdy carrying ring.
Fineness: Stamped with the fineness mark "800", which denotes solid silver (80% silver).
Wrought with maker’s mark "B" (ascribed to a fine continental silversmith, possibly France).
No additional imperial marks present, which is typical for artisanal workshop work from this specific period.
Silver weight 151 grams.
Total weight 323 grams.
