Description from the seller
Rare Postmodern Round Tray – Brass Milano – Lucite and Mirror – NEW / NEVER USED (1970s/1980s)
Exceptional and elusive round serving tray in perfect Italian glam postmodern style, produced at the turn of the late '70s and early '80s by the famous Brass s.n.c. Milano manufactory.
This lot represents a true time capsule: the item is new, never used, and is an old stock of the era (New Old Stock). It still retains the original silver adhesive label on the mirrored top, a testimony to its absolute authenticity and integrity.
The design embodies the sophisticated elegance of Italian mid-century modern design of the era, playing on the stark contrast between the two curved tubular handles in black glossy lucite (plexiglass) and the refined metal fittings with silver-plating. The central mirrored surface amplifies light in an extraordinary way. Attention to detail is also visible on the back: the underside is entirely lined with a premium textured faux leather in brown/cognac, specially designed to protect furniture from scratches and prevent slipping, completed by its original metal support feet.
