Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Rara aragonite bi-colour white and blue crystals on matrix from Sardinia, with a 144 g weight and dimensions of 125 × 70 × 35 mm, originating from San Giovanni Mine, Bindua, Iglesias, South Sardinia, Italy.
Description from the seller
From our selection of collectible minerals we present an aesthetic group of crystals on Aragonite bicolor matrix from the San Giovanni Mine, Bindua, Iglesias, Sardinia.
Also characterized by a showy botryoidal growth alternating zones of pure white with portions of intense blue, with a distinct chromatic contrast well distributed on the matrix, features that increase its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance.
The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with characteristics that highlight its natural structure and visual impact.
Aragonite is a polymorph of calcium carbonate (CaCO3), chemically identical to calcite but crystallized in the orthorhombic system, which gives it often botryoidal, globular or fan-like habits rather than the typical rhombohedral shapes. The blue color observed in some Sardinian specimens is generally linked to trace copper present in hydrothermal fluids that traversed the lead-zinc mineralizations of the district. The Iglesiente mining district in Sardinia is historically famous for its lead and zinc mines, whose cavities have produced over the years numerous and sought-after secondary minerals for collectors.
This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the realm of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species.
All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, except for very rare exceptions always indicated in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight variations in tone may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
Shipping is carried out via reliable express couriers and selected, with fast delivery (in many cases 1-2 working days in Europe), tracked and insured shipping and professional and safe packaging, as confirmed by customer reviews. Deliveries can also take place the day after payment depending on the destination.
It is possible to accumulate multiple purchases and receive them in a single shipment, even from auctions with different deadlines, simply contacting us to organize the consolidation. For important pieces, direct delivery by appointment to home or at major European fairs is also available.
