MUSEUM SIZED CALCITE from spain - Height: 16 cm - Width: 13.1 cm- 1231 g - (1)

A museum-sized matrix calcite specimen from the famous La Cuerre mine, which unfortunately closed down in 2018 after it was sealed in order to close down all entrances to the massive cave complex of El Soplao, which connected at multiple points with the mine. This piece in particular features a limestone matrix fragment partially coated with a bed of small scalenohedral calcites, over which four isolated large dodecahedral calcite crystals appear set in a rather aesthetic arrangement.
