This seat is the first prototype of a collection of outdoor objects (from the stool to the planter, including the bench and the swing). Its aim is to find an efficient way to manufacture several typologies of objects with a single tool/template. It is in this spirit that I drew a single curve that gives rise to multiple object typologies. Thus, it will be easier and less costly to produce these objects… even in small quantities!
The small plus lies in an important detail. If you look closely, you will see that the crossbars (which support the seat) are welded to the structural curve with a regular gap. Thanks to this design choice that facilitates shaping, the bars gradually move away from each other and a gradient illusion begins to take shape.
It is made of steel painted with epoxy paint in “pigeon blue.”
