Description from the seller
A sculptural masterpiece from the early 20th century to enhance your spaces! Not a mere accessory, but a true wrought-iron sculpture that embodies the timeless elegance of the Italian Liberty period (1910–1920). This extraordinary centerpiece on a stand stands out for its exceptionally high-level artisanal craftsmanship attributable to the Venetian school of Umberto Bellotto (1882–1940), the undisputed master who revolutionized the art of wrought iron internationally. Famed for patenting the “iron and glass” technique, fusing metal with Murano blown glass, Bellotto became the reference artist for the renowned firm Artisti Barovier. Works born from Bellotto's genius and his artistic collaborations earned prestigious historical recognition, being exhibited with great success at the early historic editions of the Venice Biennale and at the International Show of Decorative Arts in Monza (which later became the Triennale di Milano), where the artist won awards for the stylistic innovation of Italian art iron. The piece catches the eye thanks to its naturalistic structure: a base formed by sinuous, intertwined stems that open into a rich composition of hot-forged leaves and spherical fruits (cherries). Each detail is unique, fully hand-forged and finished with a splendid original dark patina. Pieces of this majesty are now extremely rare on the antique market. It represents the perfect investment both as a centerpiece for an elite table and as a collectible piece to enrich modern or classic interiors with a touch of authentic Italian design history. A unique opportunity to own a work that will never go unnoticed. USED; shows classic signs of use and aging, such as chipped and rusted parts — see photos which are an integral part of the description.
