This natural, unrestored 6 cm Otodus megalodon tooth from Bone Valley, Florida, dates to the Pleistocene Epoch of the Quaternary Period.
Description from the seller
This stunning Otodus megalodon tooth comes from the legendary Bone Valley fossil field in Florida, USA, a locality renowned worldwide for its fossil shark teeth. Measuring 6 cm, this is a notably large specimen for Bone Valley. Large, well-formed Megalodon teeth from this region are considerably less common than the smaller teeth typically found there.
What makes this tooth truly special is its completely beige coloration. Both the crown and the root display a soft, natural beige tint, giving the specimen a very uniform and elegant appearance. This monochrome color is relatively rare among Bone Valley Megalodon teeth and gives the tooth an appearance that strongly differs from the more well-known dark gray, brown, or blue-tinged specimens from this site.
The crown has a beautifully broad triangular shape and shows clear natural growth lines running from the base toward the tip. The characteristic fine serrations are clearly present along both cutting edges. The transition between crown and root is also nicely visible, with a distinct bourlette that further emphasizes the tooth’s natural anatomy.
Another important aspect of this specimen is its authenticity. This tooth is completely natural and unrestored. There are no reconstructed parts or added restorations; the tooth is offered exactly as it comes from the fossil-bearing material. The visible natural lines and mineralization contribute to the character and authenticity of the fossil.
With its 6 cm size, exceptional all-natural beige color, and natural, unrestored condition, this is a very attractive Bone Valley specimen. A special addition to a collection and a beautiful piece of the history of one of the most impressive predators that ever roamed the oceans.
