The Mak G 1206 is a diesel locomotive developed by the company Machinenbau Kiel (Mak). In 2006 this company was taken over by Vossloh AG. The Mak G 1206 can reach a maximum speed of 100 km/h and is used for heavy yard work and freight transport.
This specific number corresponds to a G 1206 that in real life is owned by the large railway leasing company Alpha Trains (formerly Angel Trains Cargo). Over the years this locomotive has been leased to various freight operators (such as Captrain, SNCF Fret and Rurtalbahn). This model is a "What If" version but has never actually appeared on the rails in this configuration.
