The French-made magister “Les flèches” is a wooden mechanical table pinball machine from the 1930s, in good condition and working, though the upper 1000-point flap does not lift automatically because its metal cup is missing.
Description from the seller
Authentic and rare mechanical table-top pinball machine on legs, model "Les Flèches," made in France during the 1930s. A true witness to the ambiance of bistros, estaminets and amusement parks of the interwar period, this bagatelle game is a superb collectible and vintage decor piece.
The case and stand are made of original solid wood, housing a glass-covered playing surface with metal decors, arches and skill-lane corridors.
Operation and Rules of the era game:
The pinball has been serviced and works very well for launching the balls. It has been configured for Free Play, ideal for immediate use at home or in a game room without needing to insert coins.
According to its original instruction sheets, still perfectly legible at the bottom of the board, the goal of the "Jeu d'adresse" is to lodge 3 balls in the central lane to obtain a free game ("Gagnant").
Condition and mechanical details (Note):
• Aesthetics: Beautiful overall look, with a superb patina of the wood that testifies to its authenticity. The central inscription "Les Flèches" is well preserved. The two original cardboard instruction plates, located at the bottom of the board under the glass, are still perfectly present and legible, which is remarkable for paper/cardboard elements of that era.
• Mechanics: The spring launcher and the ball descent system work perfectly.
• Missing: The small metal "spoon" (the receiving cup) under the hole in the upper 1000 zone of the playfield (see last photo) is missing. Consequently, this specific flap does not lift automatically as the ball passes, though it tilts and functions perfectly manually. A very simple piece to recreate or replace for a collector or a good handyman. The lower flaps for 1500 and 2000 are, however, complete and 100% functional and can serve as a reference for restoring the first.
A rare piece of French gaming heritage on the market, perfect for lovers of charming flea-market finds, bistro pieces, or antique pinball machines!
