Description from the seller
Editions d'art Charles Moreau:
Van Hove
French-English bilingual edition
Extremely rare and difficult to find in such excellent condition.
In every sense her work is luminous. By her talent for capturing the photons that joyfully bounce off the skin of her models, of course; but also and above all by the obvious wonder, a very ancient and widely shared awe, that she makes us rediscover. In her attempt to fix a moment of the perfection of earthly bodies one perceives ancient pagan tones. Reminiscences of a time when men created gods in their own image. Mysteries of a perpetual renaissance: whose task is essentially entrusted to the feminine aspect of Creation: flowers, women. This sense of wonder cannot help but mingle with astonishment, if not a revolt, at the fatality of the fleeting moment of its greatest radiance (and whose image nevertheless can be fixed for life in the inner mirror of each one).
Nevertheless, through an unbroken sequence of blossoms, an endless chain of captivations, the world belongs to the girls. Because they are the world. Because its continuity rests in the depths of their soft bellies. Women recognize an essential part of their truth in these drawings and paintings. They discover there feelings that had never been expressed so clearly before. As for the girls, they can, for a moment, lay down their armor, lace, and strings. Fighters and lovers on the outside, they finally find themselves alone before magical mirrors of paper and canvas. And they are well for it.
