Due to strict foreign exchange regulations abroad and joining NATO (1949), the Ministry of War, now the Ministry of Defense, issued special coins for exercises outside the Netherlands (period 1951-1954) to soldiers of the Royal Netherlands Army. These coins served as legal tender for purchases at the Dutch Military Canteen Service.
The 100 and 500 coins were manufactured by NV Luxor Plastics of Amsterdam, the 25, 10, 5 and 1 by the Holland Button Factory in Spakenburg. Due to the shortage of the 100 and 500, paper substitutes were adopted.

Seller's Story
Numistrust | The Numismaat originated from a passion for numismatics that has existed for more than 15 years. We focus on world coins of higher quality, rarer specimens, and precious metals. Personal service, honest descriptions, and professional handling are our top priorities. We regularly collaborate with MuntMarkt for the services related to grading and certifying coins, so we can support our customers in that area as well.
Besides Catawiki, we are active on LastDodo. In the future our offering will be expanded further with gold and silver bullion coins and additional sales channels, including eBay.
Our goal is not to be the largest supplier, but to become a reliable partner for collectors who value quality, honesty, and personal service.
We wish you much success and enjoyment in bidding!
