Royal Copenhagen - Theodore Madsen - Sculpture, Art Nouveau style model of a heron - 1923-1929 - 27.2 cm - Porcelain

After a model by Theodore Madsen, a fine porcelain figure of a heron standing in the reeds, measuring circa 27.2cm in height and weighing 930g, decorated in polychrome enamels. Marked to the underside with Royal Copenhagen marks, blue waves under crown used from 1923-1929 and painter´s monogram YH. Initialed to the foot with TM monogram of Theodore Madsen (1880-1965), incised in the clay. Madsen was a sculptor who worked at Royal Copenhagen and was arguably one of their finest animaliers.

Condition: Very good, no damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age.
