Description
An impressive Roman-style bronze finger ring distinguished by its substantial oval bezel, elegantly tapering shoulders and beautifully developed dark patina. Its restrained geometric composition reflects the enduring tradition of personal jewellery and signet-type rings within the Roman world.

The ring features a broad, gently convex oval bezel integrated into a continuous bronze hoop. The shoulders gradually narrow towards the lower shank, producing a harmonious transition between the prominent upper section and the slender band.

The bezel displays subtle linear surface traces and irregularities, giving the ring a particularly evocative archaeological character. Its undecorated appearance emphasises the sculptural qualities of the metalwork, while the broad upper surface recalls the characteristic construction of Roman signet rings.

A notable feature is the richly developed dark brown and charcoal-grey surface, accompanied by localised green oxidation along the inner hoop and edges. These contrasting tones create a visually striking patina that accentuates the ring's contours and surface texture.
