Description from the seller

Photographer, draftsman, and poet, a marginal artist by the very example of his life, Marcel Bascoulard (1913–1978) enjoyed dressing as a woman, creating numerous self-portraits in which he poses in the outfits he fashioned. This “magnificent tramp,” a rare figure in photography, was murdered in Bourges in 1978.

The present volume collects the entirety of Marcel Bascoulard’s photographic work, spanning from 1944 to 1974, of which a portion could be saved from disappearance.
