Description from the seller
Gescha - Sheet-metal toy 'Express-Boy' / 'Suitcase-Boy' with Original Packaging & Key – 1950s
For sale is a genuine classic of German tin toys: the legendary 'Express-Boy' (Suitcase-Boy) from the traditional company Gescha (Gebrüder Schmid, Nuremberg) from the 1950s.
Condition & Function:
• Tested & fully functional: The mechanical clockwork runs briskly and faultlessly. The hotel page performs the characteristic movement – it pushes the suitcase along and hops onto it at regular intervals.
• Visual condition: Excellent, vividly colored original lithography on the suitcase with detailed period travel stickers (including KLM, Rome). The figure shows only minimal, age-related signs.
• Accessories: The original wind-up key is included.
• Original packaging (OVP): The original cardboard box is present and bears the Gescha logo as well as the inscription 'Express-Boy' and 'Made in Western Germany'. The box is in very nice, sturdy condition with slight signs of aging (see photos).
