Description from the seller
Travel crystal-cut perfume bottle – 14k gold mount – 19th century
Elegant travel perfume bottle dating from the second half of the 19th century, of a rectangular form that is slightly tapered.
The body is made of thick crystal or glass, finely cut with long vertical ribs alternating facets and geometric motifs. The neck receives a finely engraved gold mount, finished with a hinged articulated stopper.
The opening mechanism still reveals its small inner glass stopper, removable, designed to ensure the bottle’s seal.
The piece is kept in its original travel case, leather‑bound in black and lined inside with blue duck‑blue velvet, exactly matching the shape of the bottle.
Beautiful grooming and travel object, characteristic of the refined taste of the Victorian/Napoleon III era.
Condition: good overall considering its age. Signs of use and wear to the case and its interior lining. Mount with patina and gilding wear. Small inner glass stopper preserved. See photographs for detailed condition.
