Description from the seller
COLLECTION OF 8 MINERAL BEAD BRACELETS – NATURAL CONTRASTS AND GEMMOLOGICAL VARIETY
A collection of eight bracelets that brings together colors, crystal structures and different gemological traditions. From the intense greens of malachite to the purples of lepidolite, the set stands out for its visual variety and for the work of selecting, polishing and mounting spherical beads.
Presentation: eight bracelets arranged together in a tube shape, as shown in the photographs.
Bead size: between 8 and 10 mm.
1. Aqua green Fluorite
Formula: CaF₂, calcium fluoride.
Features: aqua-green shade, translucency and vitreous luster.
Hardness: 4 on the Mohs scale.
Curiosity: fluorite gave its name to the fluorescence phenomenon.
Distinctive: its transparency adds brightness to the ensemble.
2. Malachite
Formula: Cu₂CO₃(OH)₂.
Features: deep green with concentric bands and natural patterns.
Hardness: 3.5–4 Mohs.
Curiosity: used since ancient Egypt in ornaments and pigments.
Distinctive: each bead presents a different pattern.
3. Ruby in zoisite
Formulas: ruby, Al₂O₃; zoisite, Ca₂Al₃(SiO₄)(Si₂O₇)O(OH).
Features: combination of greens, blacks and small red zones.
Hardness: zoisite 6–7; ruby 9 Mohs.
Curiosity: this mineral association is especially known from the Tanzania deposits.
Distinctive: natural contrast between two minerals with different compositions.
4. Blue agate
Formula: SiO₂, silicon dioxide.
Features: soft sky blue, slightly translucent and polished shiny surface.
Hardness: 6.5–7 Mohs.
Curiosity: agates have been used in jewelry and ornamental objects since Antiquity.
Distinctive: delicate hue that balances the lot’s intense colors.
5. Light green amazonite
Formula: KAlSi₃O₈, potassium feldspar.
Features: pale green, glossy finish and slight internal variations.
Hardness: 6–6.5 Mohs.
Curiosity: its name alludes to the Amazon, although its main known deposits are in other regions.
Distinctive: soft and elegant color, especially attractive in spherical beads.
6. Almandine garnet
Formula: Fe₃Al₂(SiO₄)₃.
Features: very dark wine red, almost black, with vitreous luster.
Hardness: 7–7.5 Mohs.
Curiosity: garnets were prized in Roman and medieval jewelry.
Distinctive: chromatic depth and sober appearance.
7. Red bead bracelet
Composition: red material of mineralogical identification pending.
Features: intense red, uniform color and very bright surface.
Format: polished spherical beads.
Curiosity: red has been one of the most appreciated colors in historical ornamentation.
Distinctive: provides the most vivid color contrast of the collection.
8. Violet lepidolite
Formula: K(Li,Al)₃(Si,Al)₄O₁₀(F,OH)₂, variable composition.
Features: lilac, violet and pink tones with light zones.
Hardness: approximately 2.5–4 Mohs.
Curiosity: a lithium-rich mica, a material of great technological importance.
Distinctive: a mix of violet hues that makes each bead unique.
Care and conservation
Avoid impacts, perfumes, chemicals and prolonged water exposure. Clean with a soft cloth and store the bracelets separately to protect the lower-hardness minerals.
