Vetreria Murrine International - Sculpture, Fiore - 10 cm - Murano glass

Splendid self-supporting sculpture in Murano submerged glass in the shape of an egg/ogive, also suitable as a prestigious collectible paperweight (egg paperweight).

The piece was made entirely by hand by the famous Murano glassworks Vetreria Murrine International (VMI) of Murano, active in the second half of the 20th century and renowned for the very high quality of its art glass craftsmanship.

At the center of the solid, clear, thick block of crystal, a large decorative flower is splendidly suspended. The internal decoration is the result of a complex handcrafted process: the stem and leaves are lamp-worked in bright green glass, topped by petals finely made by slicing millefiori canes (murrine) in shades of blue, azure and white, finished with a central faceted pistil.
The particular ovoid and tapered shape creates a magnificent lens effect that amplifies the three-dimensionality and the brilliance of the internal floral motif depending on the angle of light.
On the molded and flat base is the original and evident acid-engraved authenticity mark "VMI MURANO", certifying its manufacture and origin, accompanied by a remnant of the old original paper label.

A display piece "Large" (10 cm), of great visual impact and elegance, perfect for collectors of Murano art glass and lovers of vintage design.
