Ancient Russian icon 'Christ Pantocrator' with a metal oklad from the 19th century (circa 1880). Hand-painted with egg tempera on a wooden panel with a chalk ground.

The motif is widespread and very popular in the Orthodox Church.

This is an Old Believers icon. The painting is quite masterfully and detailed executed (see photos).

Perfectly coordinated color contrasts and successful shading. The painting contains very authentic crackling (see photos).

Minimal partial restorations are present (see photos).

Particularly expressive and striking is the face of the Saint (see photos). The Saint is inscribed. The inscriptions are easily legible.

On the back are two cross battens attached.
