Display case - Burr walnut

An antique wall-mounted display cabinet characterized by a curved upper crest in the form of a "chapeau de gendarme" (gendarme’s hat) in walnut burl – late 19th / early 20th century – door with original lock and new bronzed glass with a shaped frame, 2 internal shelves, and an internal finish cord. Finely restored with anti-woodworm treatment, cleaning, filling, and shellac polish.

A piece of great charm with ideal proportions, perfect for both classical settings and as a contrasting element in modern interiors (entryways, living rooms, lounges, drawing rooms). The roomy internal compartment and the wide, shaped glass surface make it ideal as a display cabinet for porcelain, silver, perfumes, and collectible items. Its reduced depth makes it a perfect space-saving furniture element, elegant and unobtrusive.
