Description from the seller

Coffee service set in E. Bourgeois Paris porcelain
excellent condition
6 saucers diameter 12.5 cm
6 cups diameter 6.5 cm and height 6
Stamp "E. BOURGEOIS PARIS DÉPOSÉ" : This is the signature of the famed Grand Dépôt Émile Bourgeois, a Paris store of great renown founded in 1862 and located at 21 rue Drouot in Paris.
Historical note: Émile Bourgeois was not a manufacturer, but a prestigious editor and distributor. He had designs and shapes produced exclusively by the leading French and British porcelain and earthenware manufacturers (such as Minton) for his wealthy clientele.
• Material: Fine white porcelain.
• Shape: Tasses of litron/moka shape, tall on a footed base, with saucers featuring waved or lobed edges accentuated by a fine gold edge trim on the rim.
• Decoration: A superb work in neoclassical style (reminiscent of the Louis XVI/Directoire spirit). It consists of:
• An upper geometric and floral frieze made of scrolls, yellow and green foliate volutes, and small orange flowers.
• A double lower frieze simulating a lattice or green grid (the "terre de fer" or caning motif) interlaced.
• Delicate small bouquets of cherries or red berries with green leaves scattered on the body of the cup and the underside of the saucer.
