The Matchbox 51C Pointer 8 Wheel Tipper is a die-cast and plastic model from 1969–1970, in yellow, silver, black and blue, in very good condition and in its original box.
Description from the seller
Introduced into the Lesney catalog in 1969 under reference 51c, this eight-wheeled dump truck is an iconic piece marking the very end of the Golden Age of the "Regular Wheels" (the classic black plastic wheels). It was produced just before the major transition to the "Superfast" range (designed to counter Hot Wheels in 1970), making it a key witness in the brand's history.
The chassis bears the inscription "Ergomatic Cab", paying homage to the famous tilting cab developed by the British manufacturer AEC (Associated Equipment Company), a true icon of 1960s English roads.
To heighten realism, Matchbox decorated this diecast in the colors of the "Pointer Group", an authentic transport and aggregate company based in Norwich (East Anglia). The yellow and black "POINTER" decals with their distinctive logo reproduce the exact visual identity of British truck fleets of the era.
