Description of conditions: Monumental antique wardrobe in generally excellent conservative conditions. Solid, healthy, robust wood structure and perfectly stable. The walnut burl veneer presents the splendid original polish and patina with very light and normal signs of age. Brass/bronze elements from the period finely chased (capitals, bases and gadrooned profiles) present and well preserved. Interior complete, clean and functional with side hanging sections and a large central compartment with tray-style drawers/shelves from the period. Monumental Antique 3-Door Wardrobe in Walnut Burl and Gilded Bronzes – Empire / Charles X Style (19th Century)
Very rare and scenographic three-door monumental wardrobe of the highest period cabinetmaking, dating to the 19th Century. An item of extraordinary majesty and value, perfect to embellish master bedrooms, salons, or historic homes.
Carpentry Features and Details:
Wood and Veneering: Structure clad in a spectacular mirrored walnut burl veneer of the first choice, with continuous flame-like grain and exceptional color rendering.
Bronze Details: Frontal architecture defined by four full-round columns adorned with capitals and bases in chased and gilded bronze. Doors and upper cornice enriched with refined fluting/grooved perimeters in hammered bronze.
Central Medallions: The three doors feature oval medallions set in walnut burl surrounded by finely carved bronze rosettes.
Internal Organization:
Central Compartment: Equipped with a rare and extremely convenient period-era structure with multiple shelves and tray-style drawers in wood.
Side Compartments: Intended for hanging clothes with original period hanging rod and hooks.
A piece of antique architectural significance, fully dismantlable to facilitate transport and assembly.
