This Italian parlour table dates from 1850–1900 and has a wooden structure with figured rosewood veneer and carved Rococo-style details.
Description from the seller
Antique Figured Rosewood Parlour Table — Shaped Top and Carved Pedestal Base, Late 19th – Early 20th Century
An elegant parlour or breakfast table, dating approximately to the late nineteenth or early twentieth century, distinguished by its shaped top and elaborate central pedestal base.
The figured rosewood veneer enhances the surface with pronounced grain and natural contrasts that follow the flowing outline of the top. The moulded edge emphasises its design, creating a refined interplay of curves and recesses.
The turned and carved central support features decorative motifs that continue into the shaped scroll feet, reflecting Rococo taste. The balance between the broad sweep of the top and the sculptural character of the base gives the piece a distinctive presence.
A piece suited to a traditional drawing room, a formal entrance hall or a historic residence, where it can also be appreciated as a focal point within the interior.
