Magnificent vintage storage chest inspired by Asia, dating probably from the 1970s-1980s, featuring remarkable decorative work on wood.
This rectangular trunk appeals with its elegant proportions, its warm patina, and the richness of its figurative decorations.
The lid, the front and the side panels are adorned with traditional scenes inspired by Far Eastern aesthetics, depicting people crossing a bridge, villages, picturesque architectures, mountains, trees and natural landscapes.
The drawings with dark lines, executed according to a technique of engraving or ink decoration to be confirmed, emphasize the finesse of the work.
The borders feature delicate repetitive ornamental friezes, giving a particularly carefully finished look.
Beautiful gilt-bronze patinated metal fittings, especially on the front and sides, complement the whole harmoniously.
The hinged lid provides access to a large storage space.
