Vatican. 2 Euro 2025 "Sede Vacante" (No reserve price)

This coin commemorates the Vacancy of the See, the period between the end of a papacy and the election of a new Pope. In the center is depicted the crest of Cardinal Kevin Joseph Farrell, Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, responsible for managing the Holy See’s assets during the interregnum. Surmounting it are the umbraculum and the decussated keys, symbols of papal power while awaiting the new Pontiff, the crest invoking the solemnity and continuity of the Church. In the crown there is a dove, symbol of the Holy Spirit, invoked to guide the cardinals in discerning God’s will for the choice of the new Pope. The coin pays homage to the Camerlengo’s role in the most delicate moments of ecclesial life."}
