Snuff box - Wood

This is a carved wooden object with a small inner compartment carved into the wood. Its characteristic candy-shaped form, a candy or bonbon-like shape, depicts a religious architectural scene with domes, bell towers, and a radiating cross at the center. The back and the sides feature vegetal motifs, leaves and flowers. The carving style is typical of folk art from Eastern Europe or the Balkans. In my opinion, it could be a pocket tobacco box or a rosary holder. The closure hinge is perfect.
