Magnificent and large religious sculpture of Saint Anthony of Padua with the Child Jesus, made in the prestigious workshops of "El Arte Cristiano" of Olot (Girona), founded at the end of the 19th century. A museum-quality piece ideal for collectors of ancient religious imagery, high decoration, or devotion.
•Manufacturer: Original impressed seal on the back lower part of the habit corresponding to El Arte Cristiano (Olot).
•Era: Early / Mid 20th century.
•Materials: Made using the traditional Olot wood paste technique, with a solid core, rock-like wooden base, and hand-applied polychromy and gilt finishes. It features glass eyes for both Saint Anthony and the Child Jesus, giving extraordinary realism and depth of gaze.
•Original accessories and details:
Aureole / double metal halo original.
Traditional lily bouquet and Bible in the right hand.
Thorough rosary beads applied around the habit and the Child Jesus’ hand.
Gold filigree metal halo on the Child Jesus’ head.
