AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

On Thursday, November 3, 2011, an exceptional sale of the Westfleteren XII trappist beer began in all Belgian Colruyt stores. Any customer who delivers a Knack, Le Vif or De Standaard voucher at the cash register could buy one Westlleteren XII building block. Each box contains 6 bottles of Trappist Westvleteren 12 and 2 unique tasting glasses. The abbey made such a sale of Trappist Westvleteren outside the abbey for the first time. The action ran until all 93,000 building blocks were sold.

In order to finance the renovation, the brothers have provided an extra brew of Trappist Westvleteren 12 every month since September 2010. The design agency Eclips Design created an original building block containing 6 bottles of Trappist Westvleteren 12 (for the occasion with gold print 'Westvleteren XII') and 2 tasting glasses.

It was a one time sales action. The whole effort had to be shared by the brother community and the buyers of the building blocks and therefore the campaign line "Ad aedificandam abbatiam adiuvi" (I helped build the abbey) was chosen.

Thise Westvleteren XII building block is kept upright in a dark and cool place since the purchase.
The condition of the box, bottles and glasses is excellent.

The expiration date is : 02/09/14

Please note that Westvleteren is best by dated 3 years out from bottling. Aging results in changes in the beer which some folks like. I had a bottle earlier this year that was brewed in '10. It was fantastic!
Westvleteren beer is a bit like wine ...
