Circa 2nd-3rd century AD
An elegant pair of Roman bead necklaces. One necklace is composed of numerous blue glass beads in varying shades, predominantly cylindrical and barrel-shaped, interspersed with rounded and irregular examples. A larger blue glass bead forms the central pendant. The second necklace consists of closely strung yellow stone beads, predominantly rounded and cylindrical, with occasional flattened and irregular examples.
Size: 25cm x 0.5cm x 0.5cm (set of 2)
Provenance: Private European Collection; formerly acquired from old UK and European collection formed since the 1970s.
