Description from the seller
In June 1962, six weeks before Marilyn Monroe's death, photographer Bert Stern photographed her for Vogue in three sessions at the Bel-Air Hotel in Los Angeles, shooting more than 2,500 photographs. It is the actress's last major photo session. The book presents the most famous images from the series: intimate portraits, nude shots veiled with scarves and jewelry, and the proofs on which Marilyn herself drew orange crosses to reject photos she did not like. Stern's text recounts the genesis of the sessions and his relationship with the actress. The Last Sitting has become an icon of twentieth-century photography, and this first French edition from 1982 is sought after by collectors.
Conditions: good. The silver dust jacket shows light signs of wear, with small creases and abrasions at the edges, especially at the top right and along the spine.
