Decorative ornament - in bronzo - Napoleon III - France - Large Spark Screen

Refined and imposing antique spark guard (or fire screen) for a fireplace in pure Napoleon III style, crafted as a folding expandable fan with perforated blades featuring geometric and floral motifs.

The supporting frame and the majestic base with volutes and acanthus leaves are made of gilded/brunished cast bronze, while the perforated blades with floral/geometric fretwork are in brass.

The top is decorated with a classic pinecone finial finely turned.
