Splendid, complete historical registered letter dating from 1862, sent from Recoaro (Vicenza) to Trieste, a testament to the period of Austrian rule in Veneto. The letter bears on the front the postage with a green 3 kreuzer stamp (issued 1861) canceled with a clear circular origin mark 'Recoaro 10/7/62'. On the back, the letter is complemented by a pink 5 kreuzer stamp applied in Trieste on arrival to cover the registered mail fee, canceled by the rare oval mark 'RECOMMANDIRT TRIEST 18/7/62'. Presence of an intact red wax seal. The document is of absolute authenticity and is doubly signed by two of the leading Italian philatelic experts and appraisers: Giovanni Chiavarello (to the left of the front stamp) and Gino Biondi (to the right of the front stamp), in addition to an expert initial on the back beneath the seal.
